David’s extensive work worldwide includes theatre, opera, ballet, music events, corporate theatre and commercial pantomime. Dance and opera productions include The Silverlake (ETO), The Seraglio (ETO), Dido and Aeneas (ENO/Unicorn), ETO Digital Machaut and Josquin, (A) Thread (Jean Abreu Dance Company); Absent Made Present (New Commissions for ROH2 Linbury, Royal Opera House), Peter and the Wolf (European/UK Tour and New York), Secret Garden Ballets (Hatch House, Somerset), Andersen’s Fairy Tales (Bulgarian National Ballet), Caracalla’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (London and Toronto) and Die Walkuré (Denmark New Opera). David has lit many productions at the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton including God Of Carnage, Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block, Antony & Cleopatra, Twelfth Night, Earth & Sky, The House of Bernarda Alba, The Playboy of the Western World, A Streetcar Named Desire, She Stoops To Conquer, Don Quixote and Three Sisters (2002 TMA Award Best Design). Off Broadway designs include Unsuspecting Susan starring Celia Imrie and Tabloid Caligula. David is an Associate of Iron Shoes, the resident associate company of The Bush Theatre, London.
