Declan Randall

Declan Randall is a lighting designer with over 21 years of professional design experience. In addition to his work as a lighting designer, Declan also designs set and projection as well - offering a full "Production Design Package" where he will design set, light and projection. Declan is based in London but has travelled all over the world with his lighting designs. Declan has designed the lighting for more than 400 productions ranging from dance and drama to opera and musicals. South African born Declan has served as Resident Lighting Designer for the Market Theatre, the State Theatre Dance Company, the Barnyard Theatre Group, the Black Ties Ensemble and Opera Africa and his work has been seen all over the world including America, Europe and Asia. Declan has won three awards for ''Best Lighting Design'' and published his first book on lighting design entitled ''Stage Lighting Design - Making the Light Fantastic'' in January 2008. Recent Credits: Aida, Saturday Night Fever, Les Contes D'Hoffman, High School Musical, Porgy & Bess, Winnie - the opera, Dialogues des Carmelites, Wind in the Willows, The Graft, Ghost - The Musical (set, lighting and projection design) and Sister Act (set, lighting and projection design). Most recently he was triple-nominated for the award for Best Lighting-, Best Set- and Best Projection Design for his work on Sister Act in Johannesburg.

Declan also works as an Associate Lighting Designer and EOS programmer. Most recently he worked as Associate Lighting Designer on 42nd Street at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Declan enjoys rollercoasters, photography, restoring vintage film projectors and the ocassional gingerbread latte.
