John Riddell
Biography
John is a theatre consultant with Theatre Projects Consultants. Formerly a freelance Lighting Designer and Production Manager, John, originally from Belfast, spent several years as Technical Manager and Lighting Designer in Residence at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast, with more than thirty design credits. John also worked with many of Northern Ireland's leading companies including Tinderbox, Kabosh, Ransom and Prime Cut.
John lived in Glasgow from 2003 to 2008 spending a year as Construction Manager at Scottish Opera and also working for many companies including Scottish Youth Theatre, RSAMD, National Theatre of Scotland, The Comedy Unit, Giant Productions and as a freelance for Scottish Opera.
John regularly lights showcase performances and panto for Pineapple Arts at a wide range of London venues. He graduated from the University of Warwick in 2013 with an MA in Theatre Consultancy and is currently engaged in research into theatre space and cultural sustainability in Northern Ireland, working towards a PhD.
John lives in Enfield with his wife Angela, a Company Manager, son Toby and blind Jack Russell, Sherwood.
