Martin McLachlan
Biography
Martin has spent the last 10 years working on a diverse range of lighting projects, both as an assistant to several well established LDs and building up a portfolio of his own design work alongside relighting for a number of national tours.
Recent credits as LD include new play Weird Weather by Matt Cunningham at Vault Festival 2015, the opera L’Arlesiana in Jesi, Italy as well as productions of School for Scandal, Blood Wedding and an actor musician production of musical Parade.
As Assistant LD he worked with Rick Fisher on Chariots of Fire at the Hampstead and Gielgud Theatres as well as on Hero at the Royal Court. He has also assisted Simon Corder, lighting all 3 main stage productions at Wexford Festival Opera.
On top of design work he spent three years working as Head of Lighting for Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He also does programming on ETC EOS range of consoles including for Mark Jonathan for London Children's Ballet, and for the Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk.
