Ronan O'Shea
Biography
Ronan is a Lighting Designer from Kerry, Ireland. He graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Screen Media (Hons) with a keen interest in Lighting Design and Directing from University College Cork.
Ronan is the proud recipient of the ETC Fred Foster Mentorship Award 2019/2020, where he attended LDI in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is under the mentorship of Designer Josh Allen.
Ronan is also a Lighting & Controls Designer for 3LR Design Inc. A global architectural lighting design firm based in North Carolina. During the pandemic, Ronan worked on many large-scale architecture projects, designing Lighting and Controls systems while his beloved theatres were closed.
A selection of his lighting design credits include; (Un)Holy Blood (Cork Circus Factory), Katty Barry, Queen of the Caol Quay (Cork Arts Theatre), Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (I.N.E.C. Arena), ELECTRA (KINO Cork), Straight On ‘Til Morning (Theatre Development Centre), Woman and Scarecrow, The Things I Could Never Tell Stephen, A Bunch of Amateurs (Granary Theatre). He also won ‘Best Lighting Design’ with U.C.C. Dramat for The Children’s Hour (Granary Theatre).
