Simon Hayes
Biography
Simon is a Scottish based theatre lighting designer who has worked with a variety of companies including The National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, Tron Theatre, The Citizens Theatre, Beacon Arts, Snap Elastic, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Edinburgh International Festival, Dandelion Festival, Jordan and Skinner and Glass Performance.
Originally from Lincolnshire, Simon has been in Scotland for 20 years after heading North to study Technical Theatre Production at Queen Margaret University College’s Gateway Theatre. He lives outside Edinburgh in the East Lothian Countryside with his partner, two children and Cosmo the dog.

Simon is also co-creative director of Lightworks, which specialises in large scale site responsive lighting design, immersive light art and show pieces. As part of Lightworks, Simon has been involved in projects across the UK from rooftops to woodlands, harbours to museums on projects specialising in blurring the lines between different creative media. Previous projects include the Royal Botanical Gardens Kew and Edinburgh, Blenheim Palace, RHS Wisley and My Light Shines On for the Edinburgh International Festival.
