The eagerly awaited Artistic Licence DMX512 fixer and splitter, the DMX-Fix™, is now available from stock. DMX-Fix™ is the solution to those occasional nasty compatibility problems - the ones that usually occur when the crew should be relaxing in the bar!
No matter how well a product has been designed, the complexity of modern day control technology, including DMX512-A and RDM, and the language it speaks means there are inevitable compliance hiccups which need to be cured.
That's where DMX-Fix™ comes in. DMX-Fix™ is totally automatic and requires no configuration. It filters all the clever stuff out of the DMX line allowing even the most twitchy DMX receivers to function correctly. It also fixes all the common DMX512 timing errors such as missing stop bits and incorrect break length.
One of the first deployments of our new DMX-Fix™ was from ETC who recently supplied one to the Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi. The largest mosque in the world, the Grand Mosque has recently seen the installation of a large lighting show which was subsequently troubled by a fixture with an incompatible DMX receiver. Unfortunately this fixture was in an inaccessible location so DMX-Fix™ was called to the rescue.
“We were very pleased to find a product which could fix the problem so easily,” says ETC’s Adam Bennette. “In such a large installation, we would have needed to erect towers to access the location which would have been both a costly and time-consuming exercise. Instead, DMX-Fix™ was able to provide a simple, inexpensive and instantaneous solution to the problem. It was simply a case of plugging it in and turning it on whereupon the default settings sorted the problem out immediately.”
To add to the flexibility, DMX-Fix™ is also an optically isolated splitter. The product is housed in a robust extruded aluminium case and all DMX512 ports use NeutriK 5 pin XLR connectors.
DMX-Fix™ is powered from a 9-24VDC power source on a 4 pin XLR which also allows the use of most Colour Scroller PSU's as a source of power. (A separate Power Supply is available if required).
This product can be fitted with Artistic Licence Truss-Ears to adapt it for truss-mounting.
