ETC Paradigm system wins LDI 2008 product award

ETC’s new Unison Paradigm lighting control system has been named Best Debuting Product at the LDI tradeshow 2008 in Las Vegas. At the annual tradeshow typically centred on entertainment technology, ETC’s Paradigm took surprise top billing as a system that fully integrates the art and pragmatism of sophisticated building-wide lighting control. Paradigm took centre stage for the ingenious aesthetic and green-minded solutions it provides for all kinds of venues, including for entertainment venues such as theatre house and external lighting. The awards jury found Paradigm an invaluable sign and tool of the times. On the podium, Live Design’s Ellen Lampert-Greaux summed up the thoughts of the selection committee: “Lighting designers have long struggled with the fusion of energy management, entertainment technology and architectural control. ETC’s Unison Paradigm System promises a scalable, innovative platform that is, in the opinion of the judges, long overdue.”

Lighting control has made amazing advances in the past 30 years, and Paradigm is a significant indicator of that progress – offering both dramatic effects and efficiencies. Paradigm systems are already being specified in places as diverse as colleges, convention centres, theatres and theme parks.

Accepting the award for the Paradigm system, ETC’s Architectural Market Manager Joe Bokelman says: “We are so pleased that Paradigm is being recognised as the complete system that it is. We have worked hard to prove that great lighting control means dispensing with the distinction between “architectural” or “entertainment” functionality. Paradigm is far more comprehensive and adaptable – going way beyond what former lighting control systems could do, and bringing that new power to any level of venue.”
