The launch of the first PLASA Focus event, to be held in the Saviles and Royal Armouries Halls of the Royal Armouries in Leeds, on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th April 2009, has had an exceptional response from the industry.
Over 75 per cent of A.C. Lighting North exhibitors have already committed to the new, networking-focused event, and there have been numerous expressions of interest from manufacturers and distributors who had not previously been in a position to take advantage of this unique business opportunity in the north of England.
Aimed at providing a regional business platform designed to reflect the innovation and creativity of the entertainment sector in the north, PLASA Focus will retain the feel of friendliness and informality established by its predecessor A.C. Lighting North.
However, it will offer a much broader scope of exhibitors than in the past, with an estimated doubling of exhibitors across a new two-hall layout, showcasing a wider range of lighting, audio, AV and other industry technologies. It will also appeal to those who prefer a different type of business model to the annual PLASA Show (taking place in London every September) since it will complement it by providing visitors with the opportunity to see the world’s leading manufacturers side by side with the region’s most innovative companies in a more open environment.
In addition to the expanded floorplan, a broad programme of seminars will take place in the purpose-built auditorium of the Royal Armouries Museum.
Expanding the event’s horizons further, PLASA Focus will embrace partnerships with regional organisations, and offer more companies a chance to find out about, and participate in, some of PLASA’s other activities, including its political lobbying and qualifications developments.
The new PLASA Focus website will be launched shortly and will include full details on the show, exhibitors, educational programme and social diary, together with free registration for visitors.
