Multimedia Farms selects Barco for portable LED solutions

Nationwide mobile LED display provider looks to Barco for expanding its line of large screen video displays for the rental marketVisualization pioneer Barco announced today that Multimedia Farms, also doing business as LED Display Rentals, has acquired its C11 LED indoor/outdoor display for use in the company's LED rental and staging business. The deal was signed at this year's InfoComm 2010, held in Las Vegas, NV, June 9-11.

Barco's C11 surface mounted LED tile is an indoor/outdoor solution for both rental and permanent installations. Featuring 11mm pixel pitch and 5,000 nits for superior brightness, it is the industry's first truly environmentally friendly display, consuming a fraction of the power and generating much less heat than other LED displays. Tested to Mil-Spec 810F standards, it can withstand challenging environments and features a fanless IP66 enclosure, making it absolutely waterproof. The use of SMD (surface mount diode) technology allows viewers to get extremely close to the screen and still perceive a relatively high-resolution image.

Bruce Neff, a founder and vice president of Multimedia Farms comments, “We're excited about all the new Barco products and the C11 is the perfect indoor/outdoor solution for our business. When I tell a customer that I have Barco, there's no explanation needed when it comes to image quality, it's second to none and everyone knows it.” Multimedia Farms purchased a large number of C11 tiles, enough to construct several screens and provide the flexibility to meet a variety of customer needs. Originally established as a mobile LED display supplier, the company is now going into “inside work,” offering built-up screens for tradeshows and corporate environments. “The light weight and low power consumption of the panels is also ideal for the types of applications we sell. With the right accessories and Barco's dedicated technical support, we can design a custom, easy-to-use solution,” continued Neff.

Multimedia Farms will provide a 16'x9' Barco Elements display for use at Spotlight Lexington for the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky. It's the first time the event will be held in the United States and the first opportunity for Multimedia Farms to showcase the C11.

Neff is also planning to acquire Barco's C8v, an 8mm pixel pitch (virtual) 8,000 nits LED tile, which will make Multimedia Farms the largest stocking partner of trailer-based C11 and C8v products in the country. “The C11 is flexible, and doesn't have to be permanently mounted on a trailer. With the C8v, we will have matching B16 trailers, so customers can choose different resolutions of mobile LED,” continued Neff.

“We're excited to partner with Bruce in expanding his mobile LED business…it's great to be working with someone who's as focused on quality as we are. With his acquisition of the C11 and C8v products, Multimedia Farms will be able to offer customers a multitude of options at various price points, and continue to build its national reputation for superior quality portable video displays,” commented Bill Morris, VP Video Lighting & Solutions North America.
