PLASA Focus: Leeds 2015, held at the Royal Armouries, Leeds on May 12th and 13th, is celebrating another successful event, with a buzzing show floor and a seminar programme that delivered outstanding content to the UK’s entertainment technology industry.
Highlights of the seminar sessions included Piers Shepperd’sFrom the Somerset hills to the Olympic Rings, which saw the Director of international technical production practice Wonder Works deliver an engaging talk about some of the highlights - and lowlights - of his career; tvONE’s Mark Trevena’sEye Catching Video for Events – Creating, Transporting and Displaying coveredthe various video options available for today’s events industry; Sound Intelligibility, Quality and Impact – design, verification and operationfrom Jim Cousins of sound system and venue consultancy, Sound Improvement Services, explained how to apply a knowledge of basic physics, the ear-brain system and common sense to sound system design; and the Association of Lighting Designers talk onHow many lights do you need? – The work of the lighting designer on a budget.
“The seminars are a vital part of every PLASA event’soffering and this years’ sessions covered a truly diverse range of topics,” says Content Manager Sophie Atkinson. “Every single session was extremely well attended and that is testament to both the quality of the speakers and the subject matter.”
