PLASA 2025: Highlights from the Show Floor

Earlier this month saw the return of PLASA 2025. For anyone who works in the entertainment technology industry, this is no doubt a permanent fixture in their calendar; a chance to see the latest products, speak with their peers as well develop their knowledge and expertise through the various seminars and discussions.

This year, White Light was exhibiting on stand G1, catching up with old friends and making new connections. A couple of our staff members in attendance, Leo Humphrey & Dom Yates caught up with familiar faces and explored the latest innovations from leading manufacturers.

Among the standout products was Chauvet Professional’s COLORado Solo Bar range. From the compact Solo Bar 1 to the powerful Solo Bar 6, these IP65-rated LED battens impressed with their seamless pixel-mapped effects, rich colour mixing, and robust build; ideal for everything from touring to architectural installations.

Martin Professional’s ELP MANET 8f brought theatrical warmth into the LED age, boasting a six-colour engine and ultra-high colour accuracy. Meanwhile, GLP’s WildBar 16 delivered over 10,000 lumens of output with motorised tilt and zoom, supporting a wide range of control protocols including iQ.Mesh.

Ayrton’s MagicDot Neo caught our eye with its compact RGB Lime output and eye-catching front effects; perfect for live events. On the control side, ETC’s Apex FP offered full flagship power in a portable format, while the Foundry Switch Panel provided smart, scalable power management for modern venues.

We also explored the GrandMA3 at Ambersphere, which continues to evolve with a refined interface and future-ready architecture. Over at Avolites, the D3 Console Series stood out for its compact design and powerful Titan engine; delivering up to 24 universes of control without the need for a laptop.

Rigging safety took centre stage with EXE FLEXA’s Real-Time Load Monitoring system, offering wireless precision and peace of mind for complex setups. Swisson’s XMT-500 update introduced the Node App and Advanced RDM tools, streamlining network configuration and device management. And City Theatrical’s DMXcat-E expanded Ethernet capabilities while retaining the trusted DMXcat functionality—ready for the future of lighting control.

Beyond the tech, we were proud to host a seminar exploring the creative and technical journeys behind some of the UK’s most iconic productions. Featuring Peter Small, David Howe, James Smellie, Sam Knight, and Stuart Porter, the session highlighted the collaborative spirit that drives our industry.

Classic Gear Live also made a welcome return, with WL lending some of our own historic equipment to the display. You can read more about that here.

Finally, we’re proud to have been recognised as a Phase 3 early adopter of the PLASA Carbon Reduction Commitment. Our Sustainability Manager, Gary Riehl, collected our badge at the show; marking a meaningful step in our journey to reduce our environmental impact. View more here.

All in all, PLASA 2025 was a fantastic celebration of innovation, collaboration, and community. Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
